As a birth educator, truth is of the utmost importance to me.

It is my job to present factual information. I would be doing you a disservice to use inaccurate, unscientific language in order to conform to a societal opinion, even if it’s a popular one.

Men and women have different biological roles. And our identities are not based on our bodily functions.

This distinction has even come under attack in the birth world, where the instincts, design and beauty of a natural process have already become muddied by an indifferent medical system. Let’s not continue to worsen the problem with false terminology.

WOMAN not menstruator
MOTHER not birthing person
BREASTFEEDING not bodyfeeding
FATHER not partner
